I understand that given my own breast cancer diagnosis and growing up without my mother because of this disease, I have an important voice in breast cancer advocacy. However, I truly believe those living with metastatic breast cancer should be the loudest voices when it comes to breast cancer. Their voices have been muted by the Pink Ribbon Culture for too long, and it’s time for that to change. If I can use my platform to provide assistance to those in the metastatic breast cancer community to make their voices heard, then that’s what I’m going to here at Get Up Swinging.
My goal for this Mets Monday is to educate those with early stage breast cancer or those who want to really help but not sure how to affect real change.
